| Culture change comes free
When you take a leader to a service organisation using systems thinking, he or she already knows about the results, but first thing the leader notices is the buzz amongst the workers. Leaders think something has been done to the people. Nothing has been done to the people, the system has changed. The people now control and improve the work. It is as Hertzberg always said: If you want people to do a good job, give them a good job to do. Systems Thinking does that. Culture change is free.
(Or to put it another way, if you are spending money trying to change your culture, you will fail)
