In 2006 John Seddon was involved in the “Waterton challenge”, an initiative to improve management in Wales. Following his presentation John was interviewed by Dr Paul Thomas (University of Glamorgan). Watch the video clips from that interview.
John Seddon, controversial but informed commentator on management thinking
will ensure that your event gets people stimulated.
John built his reputation on being anti ISO 9000. His argument against the
Standard is based on the same logic with which he attacks other management
fads - CRM, BPR, IiP, the Excellence Model and so on.
Systems thinking, John argues, is a better way to make the work work.
- Are the things your managers do today helping or hindering
performance?
- Do you want your managers to stop and think?
John will stimulate and challenge thinking with astonishing case studies and
examples. As you follow his criticism of traditional 'command and control'
thinking you will see your yourself there is a better way.
The value of systems thinking is just that - a better way to make the work
work. The challenge, however, is first you have to be prepared to change
the way you
think!
