Customers define value

A customer-driven system starts from the premise that the customer defines the quality of product or service.

Using data from customers (what matters to them, how they use the product/service) the purpose of the system is to design, redesign and deliver products or services that customers want and value.

Getting closer to customers often means seeing how they use your products or services. How does the product or service help them do what they want to do? Does it need to be changed to make it more useful (from the customers' point of view)?

See: Key quality characteristics.
